Returns & Exchanges

At Heritage Handicrafts, we understand that returns and exchanges can be challenging. That’s why we are dedicated to providing you with top-quality products to minimize any hassle you might encounter.

Conditions for returning a product

If a customer decides to return a product, they will be responsible for the following costs:

  1. The shipping cost to return the product to Heritage Handicrafts.
  2. The initial shipping fees incurred by Heritage Handicrafts to deliver the product.
  3. A restocking fee of either 5% of the product price or $10, whichever amount is greater.

In the event of a product defect, our team will conduct a quality check to verify the issue. If a defect is confirmed, we will refund the product cost along with any shipping charges.

We want to clarify certain aspects of our products that are not classified as defects. For more detailed information, please read further here:

  • Knots and Bumps: Small knots or bumps in the threads may occur when broken threads are reconnected. These are a normal part of the weaving process and are not deemed defects.
  • Uneven Thread Connections: The threads that connect the border to the body may appear uneven but are not considered defects.
  • Slubs: These are small clusters of residual threads that form tiny knots and are a natural occurrence in handwoven textiles.
  • Minute Gaps: Slight gaps may be present in and around motifs, which are part of the artisanal charm of our pieces.
  • Dye Bleeding: It is common for dye to bleed onto the pallu from the body, especially in powerloom sarees.
  • Loose Threads in Bandhani Sarees: Loose threads that result from the tying and dyeing process in Bandhani sarees are typical and not considered flaws.
  • Color Mismatch: We understand that color perception is subjective. While we strive to represent the true colors of our sarees accurately, variations may occur due to individual device settings. If you have any concerns about a product’s color, we encourage you to reach out to our team for clarification.

These are considered defects:

  • Tears or damages to the saree
  • Discrepancies in length compared to the description
  • Missing blouse piece (if it was specified that the saree includes one)

The Return/Exchange Process

You can return items for store credit or exchange them for a product of equal or greater value.

To initiate a return, please email us, within 24 hours of receiving your order, detailing your concern.

Once we confirm your return request, please ship the items back to us within 3 days of receiving your order. If you have any questions about the return process or timeframe, don’t hesitate to reach out via email.

For international shipments, return shipping costs and any customs fees will be the responsibility of the buyer.

Additionally, any costs associated with expedited shipping or remote area surcharges will also be incurred by the customer.

The following items can’t be returned /exchanged /cancelled

Due to the unique characteristics of these items, returns are only accepted if they arrive damaged or defective:

  • Jewelry Items
  • 925 Silver
  • Mens Wear
  • Readymade blouses
  • Personalized orders, including custom-made or made-to-order items tailored to specific sizes, such as blouses that have not yet been processed.
  • Any product that has previously been exchanged is only eligible for a return or exchange once per order.
  • Sarees for which blouses have been custom-stitched according to the customer’s measurements.
  • This includes products purchased during site-wide sales or other promotional discounts. Note that this does not apply to items purchased using affiliate discount coupons or initial sign-up discounts.
